Fundraisers pull off a shining achievement

Fundraisers made £1,000s to help turn the dreams of dying children into reality and buy much needed equipment for a special needs school.

The Night of a Thousand Stars 2008 event was a glittering success as about 190 guests dug deep while enjoying live music at Our Lady of the Visitation church hall, Greenford Road, on September 27 .

Spectacular auction lots such as Football shirts signed by John Terry and Frank Lampard, a day out on the Hollyoaks set with a walk-on part, a Porsche Boxster for the weekend and a week's accommodation in Miami
made sure people kept on bidding.

The £4,000 raised was divided between charity Dial-A-Dream and St Ann's School, in Springfield Road, Hanwell.

Joint organiser Pat Barrett said: "It was fantastic, everyone absolutely loved it."

The next event will be held in 2010.
