Pub's fundraising tops £100,000 in memory of lost friend

A Pub has raised thousands of pounds in memory of a landlord who died tragically in a car accident in 2001.
The Captain Morgan Pub in Greenford Road, which was run by Mick Seery and Damien Morgan, first began fundraising for a special needs school in 1994.

And after the tragic death of Mick Seery, the fundraising efforts continued. Now more than £100,000 has been raised for the Mandeville school in Horsenden Lane North, Greenford.
Christine Marks, Head Teacher of the school said it was an amazing amount that had been raised.
She said: "The children's needs here are so specific and the equipment and resources are quite costly and with the help of Damien Morgan and his associates, the equipment has been put to good use.
"We have just moved from Eastcote Lane to Horsenden Lane North and we are so grateful for the continued support. We would never take their efforts for granted."
The bar hosts annual Mick Seery Golf Society tournaments, dinner evenings, prize draws and auctions to raise the money.
Damien Morgan said: "We started raising the money without knowing who to give it to and it was suggested that we should donate the money to Mandeville as we realised how much extra funding the school needed.
"Mick Seery was the main part behind the fundraising - he would shave his head or go on diets and we wanted to continue the support after his death."
