The funeral of the popular amateur footballer who died just minutes after winning a match is to be held next week.
The funeral of the popular amateur footballer who died just minutes after winning a match is to be held next week.
Stephen Ritchie, 43, died tragically after playing for Old Greenfordians against Kingshill FC in November, after receiving a blow to the head.
The grandfather was struck after the game at Little Harlington playing fields and despite extensive efforts by paramedics to resuscitate him, he died at 1:05pm on Sunday, November 30.
His funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, January 14, at Holy Cross Church, Ferrymead Avenue, Greenford, then at 3pm at Breakspear Crematorium, Ruislip.
Guests are asked not to send flowers but instead to make a donation can do so with a cheque payable to The Shooting Star Children's Hospice, the cheque can be sent c/o Patrick Ryan & Daughter Funeral Directors, Oldfield Lane South, Greenford UB6 9LB or given on the day.
