Striking talent in Greenford, Northolt and Perivale
Pupils put some striking talent on show when 23 primary schools went head-to head in a football tournament organised by the police.
The final at Northolt High School in Eastcote Lane, was the culmination of eight weeks of matches and saw Stanhope Primary crowned champions.
The Northolt High Primary Community Cup saw 30 children from the north of the borough compete, first to establish the best team in their area, then to represent their ward in last Wednesday's (3) final.
It was funded by the Ealing Community and Police Consultative Group and organised by sergeant Paul Bennett of Greenford Green Safer Neighbourhood Team.
He said: "We ran a tournament for our ward last year and expanded this year because it was so successful. It was about building relationships with the police and young people.
"It was a fantastic day and even the borough commander Sultan Taylor came to referee a match.
"There was some impressive talent, we might see one or two playing professional football in the future."
The player of the tournament prize was won by Kelvin Portuphy, 11, of Viking Primary.
