Boost for bookworms as new Northolt Library opens

The new Northolt Library has opened for business boasting new computers with internet access, rooms for community meetings and a garden.

The centre, in Church Road, opened on Monday after its £1.5m facelift which took 11 months to complete.
Most of the work was paid for by the Big Lottery Fund's Community Libraries scheme which covered about £1.2m of the cost, with the council covering the rest.
Councillor Phil Taylor, cabinet member for customer and community services, said: "It has a much more inviting feel to it and I am sure that residents will agree when they come and visit. The library has a lot more to offer now so I expect to see more people coming to use it."
The libarary is open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 9pm and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.
