Eight flee Northolt fire

People were forced to flee their flats after a bin room caught fire on November 5.

Eight people managed to escape the blaze in the 12-storey block of flats in Academy Gardens, Northolt, yesterday afternoon.

Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters battled the blaze and the fourth floor bin room measuring three by three metres was damaged by the fire.

The Brigade was called at 4:37pm and the fire was under control by 5:43pm.

Firefighters from Southall, Northolt, Hayes, Hillingdon, Heathrow and Heston fire station were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
