Haircut for Haiti a big success
Brave teachers let pupils hack at their hair in a bid to raise cash for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
More than £800 was raised in the event which saw the six to 11-year-olds take turns with the scissors at Horsenden Primary School, in Horsenden Lane North, Greenford.
It cost a pound for each time a name was entered into a hat to win the chance of a snip at the hair of Matt Bull and Morgan Bell last Thursday (28).
About 50 children managed to take part, eager to style their teacher.
Assistant headteacher Sally Wright said: "They had not unsubstantial heads of hair and Mr Bell was a bit nervous. It was Mr Bull's idea as he'd done it about seven years ago for Comic Relief.
"The kids loved it and even some of the staff had a go.
"Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we had a qualified hairdresser on standby who tidied them up at the end so they were fit to go out into the street."
